Visit Maribor Mobile app
Free mobile tourist guide of old Maribor city centre has been designed to help tourist, as well as locals learn about the capital of Styria (Štajerska) through four themed trails, taking visitors through Maribor's main historic locations. The Visit Maribor mobile guide is free and can be used without internet connection.
The Visit Maribor tourist guide takes tourists as well as locals to all significant historic locations of Maribor, the city by the Drava River. From the world's oldest vine, across the market square where the first electric bulb in these parts of Europe was lit, to Maribor's underground hiding one of Europe's oldest wine cellars.
There are four themed trails that lead visitors through Maribor: »To the origin of the name Maribor«, »To the oldest vine in the world«, »Through the oldest part of the city along Drava river« and »Along the former citadel wall«. At each visited site, visitors are informed about more and less well known facts and can see old photos of the site. Traditional city map is no longer needed in order to explore the old city centre, as all points of attraction (and info on their location) are now available by the app.
The app does not require internet connection – it can be downloaded to visitor's mobile devices, from where they now have a guide that takes them on a tour of the town. Tourist mobile app works on mobile devices supported by Android or iOS operating systems.
