Interactive information point
Municipality of Maribor has set up an interactive information point in the city centre (square Trg Leona Štuklja and bus stop CITY Center) with the aim of allowing free access to information and city services for citizens and tourists.
Within the PMinter project (Inter-regional impact of the measures for the protection of ambient air from pollution by particles from road transport and small combustion chambers in the Slovenian-Austrian border area) and with the help of European funds the first information point was set up in the northern part of the square Trg Leona Štuklja. As such the information point primarily aimed at informing the general public about the current air quality.
The interactive information points are equipped with a touch screen and a multilingual user interface, and offer citizens and tourists the latest information about events, a real time view of the happenings in the city via webcams, data on air quality, weather information, photo galleries of events, sights of the city and the city map.
The main advantages of such information points are mainly the possibility of adjusting each terminal individually and of dynamically accessing data remotly. Thus it is possible to reach broader audience, the user receives up to date information, an the use is free of charge and easy.
